Trullo Azzurro: Beautifully restored trullo in delightful, secluded valley
Passionate about all things Italian, consultant Mary Galashan has been brushing up her language skills with us this year and is a valued member of our Thursday night Intermediate Italian class.
Mary and husband Mark have a special love, their beautiful Apulian trullo, which they have sensitively restored to an exceptional standard, following time-honoured methods, to preserve the ''magical'' nature of the property.
For those of you who have never ventured into Puglia, the southerly region that forms the 'taccone' or high heel of Italy, you may have yet to encounter these enchanting conically-roofed dwellings of cool white-washed stone. Fasano, Cisternino, Martina Franca and Cegllie Messapica the bejeweled wonderful countryside of the Itria valley.
Trullo Azzurro is surrounded by a garden with olive and fig trees and enclosed within a south-facing courtyard. Just imagine basking in the sun, relaxing over a glass of Salice Salentino, dining al fresco and admiring those soothing views over the valley.....
Mark and Mary are now renting out their trullo for the summer and have a few weeks still free, so if you'd like to find out more you can visit their website below. And if you book in the next week and mention our name, your bottle of Salice Salentino is on us!
