This month we’re featuring the BBC’s new Spring Schedule for language learners. Despite the cuts, the Beeb is launching a TV drama aimed at those starting out in Italian. It’s called: La Mappa Misteriosa, an amazing mystery story with a compelling plot to get you hooked. What’s On in February 2011: Chinese Year of the Rabbit; Italian Dolce Vita Show; French Ciné lumière
Saying a grand farewell to meat for the period of Lent is not the only celebration going on at this time of year.
February has also heralded in the Chinese year of the Rabbit. You may be surprised to find out that in Chinese culture the rabbit symbolizes peace and friendliness, elegance and love of beauty, so 2011 brings the promise of an altogether gentler year and plenty more ‘me time’.
In celebration of the year of the Rabbit we’ve put some free materials on our website so you can Learn How to say Happy Chinese New Year in Mandarin Chinese make Chinese greetings and work out your birth year animal symbol on the Chinese Calendar.
To celebrate we’ve programmed a special Chinese Calligraphy workshop on Saturday 2 April 2011 - book now!
