Year of the Rabbit

When was the Chinese New Year's Day in Year 2011?

Chinese New Year, (3rd February, 2011) also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. Celebrations start on New Year's Eve, the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar and end with the Lantern Festival, on the fifteenth day of the month.

Each year  is associated with one of 12 animals. People born in 2011, the year of the rabbit are the luckiest among "the twelve animals." The rabbit symbolizes mercy, friendliness, elegance  and love of beauty. Those born in 2011 will be softly spoken, tranquil, gentle, peaceful, and loving people. Their reserved nature is teamed with a strong appreciation of the arts and they value fair play. Often among our most learned scholars, they always aim high and achieve well.

Learn Chinese Mandarin

The indispensable language
BBC business reporter Mary Hennock said: "China's economy is growing so quickly and becoming so influential in the world economy that people can't afford to ignore it. People who want to be ahead .. need to think about China and learning Chinese."
Mandarin is set to be an indispensable language in fact Chinese is already the language of nearly a quarter of the world's population. China  has the world's fastest growing economy and increasing economic influence as potentially the biggest global market in the twenty-first century.
