Accessibility Statement

We have considered the experience of our website visitors when designing this website. Accessibility is very important to us. Our website designers are aware of the standards and regulations with which we should comply.  The pages on this website were built comply with all priority 1 and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Downloads and Scripting

  1. The website design makes very limited use of JavaScript and plug-ins to ensure that all pages and content can be accessed. 
  2. Content requiring JavaScript is included on an alternative page or is for decoration only.
  3. The website makes limited use of images, all images in use have been optimised for fast download.

Links

  1. All links are text based and menu links include title attributes
  2. All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. H1 tags are used for main titles, H2, H3 and H4 tags for subtitles.

Content

  1. All images used for the design are separated into a CSS file away from important content.
  2. All content images are provided with an alt hover over description. 
  3. All text in the content can be resized using the browser's own text resizing functionality.

Display

  1. The website has been built to degrade gracefully depending on your browser and settings  - for example you will be able to view this website without JavaScript and without style sheets.
  2. The website has been designed for monitors of 1024px wide or larger. Those with smaller monitors can still access the content but might experience some horizontal scroll bars.
  3. We have selected a standard and easy to read font and ensured that the colors chosen make for easy reading.

Navigation

  1. The navigation of the site has been split over a number of easy to reach menus.
  2. The website makes use of a breadcrumb (you are here) message to indicate you current page.
  3. All navigation is text based
