What does the course cover?
Discover and discuss a good read. Aimed specifically at those getting to grips with the French novel, the group will tackle a range of contemporaryand classic works, supported by notes and comprehension tasks at home. Meeting monthly club members will then meet to clarify meaning, discuss and evaluate their responses together.
What will I read?
Un sac de billes by Joseph Joffo
Un sac de billes is a Second World War autobiographical novel by the French author . It tells the story of his flight, as a small boy, with his brother Maurice to escape from Nazi occupied France to the Zone Libre
Books are shortlisted and the group decides together each new book to be read and discussed.
Is the course at the right level for me?
You will be able to discuss the book in relation to plot, characters, structure,expressing yourself fairly fluently, if not always accurately. You can describe the experiences and events of the book and dreams,hopes & ambitions of the main characters and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. You should be able to express opinions about the book you have read.
