What does the course cover?
When in Italy we want you to be able to make the most of life: enjoying mjusic, the arts, entertaining, cooking, going to film nights, music shows, the theatre, golf or other sports.
This Italian course will concentrate upon your growing confidence to socialise and build relationships using your newly acquired skills.
The course is communicative in approach which means we will focusing on speaking and listening in class, whilst developing reading and writing intersessionally.
We'll ask you to tread an ‘Easy reader’ and discuss this along the way. Your trainer will use a range of participative activities so that you can refresh and consolidate your existing knowledge of basic-intermediate Italian grammar structures and extend your knowledge to new structures.
We plan to offer a rich, exciting experience with plenty of focus on cultural context. We'll also have fun exploring tv,film and Italian music and song.

Is the course at the right level for me?
Yes, if you have completed a pre-intermediate/intermediate course recently, have equivalent experience or are returning to learning having studied to GCSE or ‘O’ Level in the past and are now looking to reactivate/consolidate prior learning to progress to a higher level.
You should have a sound grasp of basic gammar and be able to cope in predictable day-to-day situations. You should be fairly comfortable with basic tenses: present,present perfect, imperfect,future and have built some knowledge of and confidence in using the plusperfect, conditional tenses, and imperative.
You may be familar with, if not acccurate in using direct,indirect and combined pronouns. You may also be able to give your opinions and justify your reasoning in a simple way using some forms of the present subjunctive tense. This programme aims to consolidate key areas,extend speaking and listening competence and grammar knowledge in a supportive and friendly environment in line with the needs of the group.
You may have lived abroad for a year or so, without studying formally. This is often a good level to join our programmes You'll be more able than some to express yourself verbally, but this level will give you chance to look at some of the key structures, focus on the accuracy of what you are saying and gain knowledge about the language, how it is structured and the building bllocks which underpin it.
What will I achieve?
Build your confidence with tenses and knowledge of basic structures and coping in daily scenarios so that you will be able to cope with unpredicted circumstances. You'll get to know the country and culture more deeply and enjoy finding out about song,film, food and famous authors. You'll practise and gain confidence in expressing your opinions and talking with and in front of others.

This course provides the building blocks to enable learners to progress to the next stage: Intermediate level January 2018 module.
