In celebration of Valentine's Day, this month we're revealing our top 28 heart-shaped locations around the world. From beautiful lakes and forests for the adventurous to tropical islands for a romantic get-away, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Today, we uncover a heart-shaped lake in the Piora Valley, in the Swiss Alps. This stunning lake, within the former glacier valley above the Leventina, is a feast for the eyes. Among the green peaks of the Ticinese Alps, the valley is not only beautiful, but with its 3,500 hectares it is Ticino’s largest Alp. No less than 1,000 hectares are pastureland and a hike through the mystical landscape offers the opportunity to marvel at its beauty and sample a piece of the legendary and rare Priora cheese.
